- In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds to enhance the flavor.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, and ginger. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Add the drained crushed pineapple to the pan. Stir and let the mixture cook for a few more minutes.
- Let it simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until the sauce thickens and all the flavors meld together.
- Serve the sweet Hawaiian sloppy joes on fresh buns.
Notes
For an extra touch, you can add some slices of fresh pineapple or a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top. Pairs well with coleslaw, potato chips, or a simple salad.
