Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 500 g ground beef Lean ground beef is recommended.
  • 15 ml oil Canola or olive oil works well.
  • 100 g onion, chopped About 1 medium onion.
  • 6 g garlic, minced About 2 cloves of garlic.
  • 200 ml BBQ sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade.
  • 100 ml tomato sauce Can substitute with ketchup.
  • 15 ml Worcestershire sauce Adds savory depth.
  • 2 g smoked paprika For that smoky flavor.
  • 3 g salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 g pepper Adjust to taste.

Method

Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a pan and cook the chopped onion for 3–4 minutes until soft.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  3. Add ground beef to the pan and brown it, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Stir in the BBQ sauce, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Let this mixture simmer for 10–12 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Serve the mixture on hamburger buns for a delicious sandwich.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding diced bell peppers or jalapeños when cooking the onions. Use whole wheat or brioche buns for a healthier twist or a sweeter taste. Adjust the level of BBQ sauce and smoked paprika to suit your taste preferences.
