Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4-6 pieces Boneless chicken breasts Use even-sized for uniform cooking.
  • 1 can Cream of chicken soup Adds a rich base for the sauce.
  • 1 packet Ranch seasoning mix Provides classic ranch flavor.
  • 1 cup Chicken broth Thins the sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Gives a gentle garlic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder Adds savory notes.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper Use freshly ground if possible.
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream Stirred in at the end for creaminess.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Melts into the sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley For garnish.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil Optional for searing the chicken.

Method

Preparation
  1. If desired, sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown both sides for 2-3 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream soup, ranch seasoning, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them, coating evenly.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken shreds easily.
  2. Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks in the crock pot, stirring it back into the sauce.
  3. Stir in sour cream until smooth. Top with shredded cheese and parsley before serving hot.

Notes

Use even-sized chicken for consistent cooking. Don't lift the lid during cooking to maintain heat. Adjust seasoning if needed and add a splash of broth if the sauce thickens too much.
