  • 1 tbsp olive oil For cooking

  • 1 medium carrot, grated About 80 g

  • 2 tbsp ketchup For sweetness
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce For depth of flavor
  • 1 tsp salt To taste

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and grated carrot, and cook for 4–5 minutes until they soften.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until it is browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
  5. Pour in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together well.
  6. Let the mixture simmer for about 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serving
  1. Serve the turkey mixture on toasted hamburger buns.
  2. You can add toppings like sliced pickles, lettuce, or sliced tomatoes for extra crunch and flavor.

Notes

For a touch of sweetness, consider adding a splash of honey or a bit of brown sugar to the sauce. If you like a bit of heat, feel free to add some red pepper flakes or hot sauce. You can mix in chopped bell peppers or mushrooms for added nutrition and flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage. Reheat when ready to eat.
