  • 1 lb ground beef Good quality ground beef for better flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, sliced Sauté until translucent for sweetness.
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls Toast before filling.
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded Can substitute with mozzarella or cheddar.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing onions.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning as desired.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until they are translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  4. Once the beef is cooked, reduce heat to low and add the shredded provolone cheese on top. Cover the skillet until the cheese melts.
  5. Toast the hoagie rolls, then fill them with the beef and cheese mixture.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

You can add extra toppings like pickles, hot peppers, or additional sautéed onions. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm in a skillet or microwave. Store the filling and rolls separately to prevent sogginess.
