Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 400 g ground beef
  • 250 g elbow macaroni
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 400 ml tomato sauce
  • 500 ml beef broth
  • 150 g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Method

Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and cook for about 3–4 minutes until it becomes soft.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and brown it for 6–8 minutes.
  5. Once the beef is cooked, stir in the taco seasoning until well combined.
  6. Add the elbow macaroni, tomato sauce, and beef broth to the skillet.
  7. Bring the mixture to a simmer. Cover the pot and let it cook for 12–15 minutes until the pasta is tender.
  8. Finally, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts into the pasta.

Notes

Serve hot with a sprinkle of extra cheese, sour cream, diced tomatoes, or fresh cilantro. This dish pairs well with a side salad or garlic bread. For a creamier texture, add cream or a dollop of sour cream just before serving. You can easily replace ground beef with turkey or chicken, and add vegetables like bell peppers or corn for extra nutrition.
