- Cook egg noodles in salted boiling water for 7–8 minutes, then drain.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté diced onion for 3–4 minutes until soft.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring often.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned (about 6–8 minutes).
- Stir in the tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and oregano. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix the beef sauce with the drained noodles until well combined.
- Transfer everything to a baking dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding some chopped bell peppers or mushrooms when sautéing the onions. You can use whole wheat egg noodles for a healthier option. Feel free to mix in other cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for a different taste. If you prefer a spicier casserole, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
