  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.

  2. Add in the cold butter pieces and mix with your fingers or a pastry cutter until you have coarse crumbs.
Baking
  1. Spoon the muffin batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  2. Sprinkle the streusel mixture evenly over the top of the muffin batter.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  4. Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve muffins warm or at room temperature. They pair beautifully with coffee or tea. Store in an airtight container. They can last at room temperature for up to three days or be frozen for up to three months.
