Preparation
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, mix the bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger.
Cooking
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the bourbon sauce mixture and bring to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
- Add the cornstarch slurry to the simmering sauce and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
Serving
- Serve warm over rice or noodles.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the bourbon sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less brown sugar to taste.
