Crispy, cheesy, and juicy—these Air Fryer Smash Tacos are the ultimate quick dinner. Using the air fryer, you get perfectly browned beef, melty cheese, and a tortilla that’s both crunchy and tender. Ideal for busy nights or when you want street-style flavor at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef ( 80/20 blend for juiciness)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp pepper

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • 6 small flour tortillas

  • 6 slices of cheddar or American cheese

  • 1 tbsp olive oil spray

  • Toppings: diced onions, shredded lettuce, pickles, or taco sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Divide the beef into 8 equal balls. Season each with salt, pepper, garlic, and chili powder.
  3. Lay out the tortillas. Add a small ball of beef on one half of each tortilla.
  4. Press (smash) the beef flat with a spatula to spread it thin across the tortilla.
  5. Top with shredded cheese and fold the tortilla over.
  6. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with oil and place 2–3 tacos inside (don’t overcrowd).
  7. Air fry for 6–7 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite toppings and dips.

Notes

For an extra-crisp edge, brush the tortillas with a touch of oil before air frying.

Ground chicken or turkey works perfectly as a leaner alternative.

Serve with salsa verde, guacamole, or chipotle crema for added flavor.
