These Air Fryer Crispy Onion Rings are crunchy, golden, and full of flavor — without all the grease! Made with a simple breadcrumb coating, they cook up perfectly crisp in minutes. Great as a snack, appetizer, or burger side, these onion rings deliver that classic deep-fried crunch using a fraction of the oil.

Ingredients

Scale

2 large yellow onions, sliced into ½-inch rings

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon milk

1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs

Olive oil spray or cooking spray

Instructions

1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.

2. Separate onion slices into rings.

3. In one bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

4. In another bowl, whisk eggs with milk.

5. Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.

6. Dip each onion ring in flour, then egg mixture, then breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to coat evenly.

7. Arrange coated onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with oil.

8. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.

9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Use sweet onions for a milder flavor or red onions for extra bite.

For extra crispiness, double-dip the rings (flour → egg → breadcrumbs → egg → breadcrumbs).

Serve with ranch, spicy mayo, or ketchup for dipping.
